On behalf of the congregation of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus and the Handmaids Mater Dei Girls’ Secondary School family, I write to wish all our parents and guidance a spirit filled advent season and Christmas celebration in advance. As Christians, we know that Advent season gives each of us an opportunity to prepare for the second coming of Christ. This preparation calls for the practice of patience, hope and humility in order to welcome our Redeemer who humbled himself and came in human form in order to save us and offer us the privilege of becoming children of God and citizens of Heaven.
We have every reason to be grateful to God for this wonderful gift of salvation. In gratitude for all we have received from Him, we are called to extend the same gift of mercy and compassion to our neighbors by sharing with them some spiritual, physical and moral relief during this season. We also have every reason to appreciate God for sustaining and keeping us throughout this year despite all odds. May his name be praised now and forever.
As our children are on holiday, remind them to do their take home assignment, monitor their movement, those who visit them and places they visit. Instill in them the virtue of family unity through family prayers, family meals and family meetings. May God continue to bless our dear children.
