School History

On the 11th April 1988 the school started with twenty nine (29) students and ten (10) staff with Sr. Maria Ngozi Ajelu HHCJ (RIP) as the pioneer Principal and sister Jane Theresa Njoku HHCJ as the Vice Principal.

At inception the school was known and called Handmaids Mater Dei Professional Institute, Obube but was later changed to Handmaids Mater Dei Secondary School on the 16th September 2002 as a fully fledged secondary school.
